You will meet Tori Bennett in my holiday Romance On The Go novella, A Hero Inside, which will be released on December 23rd! Tori loves her sweets, but she is on a budget, so she looks for economical solutions.
This saltine toffee, which my family refers to as Christmas Crack, is simple to make and easy on the pocketbook. It also disappears quickly, so make sure you have enough ingredients on hand to make a second batch!
Tori’s Saltine Toffee
- 4 ounces saltine crackers
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Line cookie sheet with saltine crackers in a single layer.
In a saucepan combine the sugar and the butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely.
Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes. Spread melted chocolate and top with chopped nuts, if desired. Cool completely and break into pieces.
Spend time with Tori, Ethan, and the entire Price clan when you check out my new novella, A Hero Inside, available December 23rd!
